Help show support for the charter organization that support us!

 February 14th

1st Service: 8:30am
2nd Service: 11:00am

We ask that every scout and their family attend one of the two services at the Church of the Dunes that day.  Each service lasts about an hour.  We are looking for a HUGE turnout this year!

In addition, we need two scouts and one alternate to commit to volunteering to be acolytes for each service.  The acolytes will need to arrive half an hour early for each service.

About Scout Sunday:

The Boy Scouts of America designates the Sunday that falls before February 8 (Scouting Anniversary Day) as Scout Sunday, which is the primary date to recognize the contributions of young people and adults to Scouting. However, each chartered organization can use other options to celebrate this special day.

An organization can adopt a specific Sunday to celebrate. In the instance of the United Methodist Church and the Presbyterian Church (USA), Scout Sunday is celebrated on the second Sunday in February as not to conflict with Transfiguration Sunday.

If the church that a scout normally attends celebrates Scout Sunday on May 7th or Scout Sabbath on May 13th, we encourage the scout to wear his uniform to church on that day!  Please still plan attending a service on May 14th at the Church of the Dunes!
